A state-of-the-art solar installation is producing clean energy for Franz Bakery’s new Outlet Store and Depot in White City, Oregon.

The six elevated dual-axis solar trackers move gracefully with the sun all through the day in the parking lot of the newly built facility. The installation was designed to generate all the power the new location will need while also accommodating possible future electric vehicle charging stations and other operations-related energy demand increases. That ensures net zero electric status for the long run.

The construction of the 21,000 sq. ft new steel building and its premises was managed by prime contractor JB Steel. Project Manager Alex Batzer saw the opportunity to include solar power generation into the project and involved Stracker Solar to provide a proposal.

JB Steel was also collaborating with Stracker Solar on the solar part of the project. Their construction team took care of all the site work that preceded the installation of the solar trackers: trenching, laying conduit, drilling for, and pouring foundations.
